Definition
Apana translates as “The air that moves away”
Assisting moving prana downward inviting graunding and stability. A moon practice with longer exhales.
​Location
Apana Vayu is located in the pelvic region and root or Muladhara chakra. Apana Vayu pervades the lower abdominal area and pelvic floor.
​
Movement
The flow or current of pranic energy is down and out… releasing and letting go of energies, emotions, traumas, negativities that do not serve the body-mind-spirit. Allowing the toxins, traumas, samskaras, karmas and blockages within the body to move down and out of the system. Releasing all that no longer serves the body/Mind.
Action
Apana governs the elimination of all substances from the body, including toxins in the physical, energetic and emotional bodies.
