Lifetimes of investigation

Samkhya Philosophy- School of thought. Systematic map of how consciousness descends from non-physical Souls into three dimensional physical human body manifestations.  How we came to be human with personality. How did this physical world arise?

Samkhya and Tantra are backbones of many religions and spiritual paths, yet expressed differently according to different traditions and cultures.  TantraY oga, Ayerveda, Hinduism, Buddhism, Jnanism.

Veda’s and Upanishads are ancient philosophical texts that include key Tantra philosophies including Samkhya, 2,500 AD, 3,000 years ago brought to the world by Sage  Contilla, systemized map of the descent of consciousness, Spirit to Human.

Non Dual Map to Bhakti Student who was his mother

Dualistic Map of consciousness descending to form. Other student Speaker.

Life and death are not as important as how we live now.

Dharma is our life purpose and mission… our life is our message.

Destiny is co-created between Source extending your existence and every choice, word spoken and vibrational resonance you align with.

We all come from the same Source, we are all extensions of the same Universal Creator Source. Yet we are unique as individual Souls having lifetimes upon lifetimes of varying experiences, developing ancient relationships in the many levels of non-physical and physical dimensions, worlds, realms including Earth.

Samkhya Dual Map of Descent from consciousness to physical human form.

Dharma or life purpose and mission our Soul chose before we were born. Dharma gives our lives meaning; choosing the highest timelines, entering into the highest opportunities, serving our highest destiny.

Where we begin as pure consciousness to how we became human beings.

Samkhya gives us the map back home to our Eternal Reality.

Singularity- Ishvara

Always at peace, knowing our Soul purpose while in duality.

Remaining the stillness amongst the ever-changing phenomena.

Mastering the ability to remain living in a dualistic world while anchored in the Higher Mind.

Ishvara

Singular Cause of All Existence.

Non-dual Source of All Existence.

Oneness Core of All Existence.

We all come from the same Source, made in the same image, likeness as non-physical pure Divine consciousness.

Ishvara can be called God, Source, Creator, Universe, not as an individual, not personified, but Infinite field that includes all that Is.

Field of Infinite Source, Knowledge, Spiritual Energy and Power.

Ishvara had a will to know Itself.

Think about that for a moment… an Infinite all-loving Source wished to experience It’s reflection.

All of existence arose from a reflection of Ishvara, all of existence is a reflection of Ishvara.

The Samkhya map of how we came to be begins with the One Source, field of awareness, desiring to know Itself, see Itself, experience It’s Self more deeply. This is the will, the desire that created worlds, that created you, that created me… through a reflection of It’s own beingness, it’s IMAGE.

The will of Ishvara desiring to know Itself, extended forth to create you!

We can think of ourselves as not this one lifetime, body and personality, but the non-physical highest expression, Whole Self. Atma is our non-physical Soul or Over Soul that contains all aspects, lifetimes, expressions of our energy throughout eternity.

Atman or Atma is closely related to the term jivatman, the individual non-physical esssence that continues across multiple lifetimes, every life you have ever lived, past, present and future… whether animal, human, star seed, or any possible degree of etheric and physical experiences.

Atman is distinct from the temporary body/mind/intellect. Atman is an eternally unchanging Divine True Nature that exists in all living beings (Jiva)

  1. Advaita Vedanta- Atma is pure aware consciousness, or Sakshi unidentified with phenomena, believing in only one Self.

  2. Samkhya Yogic Map- Atma is one with the essence of purusha yet in the Samkhya map it is believed expresses in innumerable selves

I believe there is truth in both positions, maybe just language confusion. Atma can be the part of us that is unchanging, silent, still, a perfect reflection of the Infinite Divine Field, and Atma can create a dance of magnificence upon the Field with multitudes of expressions creating a perfect reflection within the Mind or Field of God Source Energy.

Dual and Non-Dual philosophies in yoga

-Non-dual see’s Atma and the Creator as One

-Dual see’s Atma and the Creator as different aspects of the One

Coming back to the original desire, will of the incomprehensible mystery Creator Source.

“One Source, field of awareness, desiring to know Itself, see Itself, experience It’s Self more deeply. This is the will, the desire that created worlds.”

This desire and will of Infinite Source to know Itself more deeply created the first manifestation of the decent into becoming a human being… Purusha and Prakriti.

Purusha and Prakrita

From the absolute Oneness of Ishvara the map of Samkhya has two energies; Purusha and Prakrita which evolves out of singularity. This is our first evolution from pure oneness, our first evolution from singularity into duality.

These two aspects of all manifested reality constantly dance within all life. When we can balance, honor and connect to both aspects of ourselves, others and all life we can live our highest vision or mission for our lives (Dharma)

Purusha

Unchanging, eternal, indestructible pure consciousness. In perfect peace, silent stillness, all pervasive, beyond time and space. Purusha is the same as Ishvara, yet now aware of another energy, a dual existence… a reflection of Itself that has evolved forth as Prakrita.

Prakrita

Ever-changing ocean of frequencies of energy, full of unlimited potential to manifest and create. Activity, doing, form, nature, bodies, thoughts, emotions, weather, etc. An ocean of vibrational electromagnetic field in which the building blocks of the entire manifested world arise from.

The Dance of Purusha & Prakrita

Every manifestation in existence has both Purusha and Prakrita.

Hatha Yoga is Sun/Moon… and all about mastering both Purusha and Prakriti energies within us, bringing them into balance over and over again.

As we engage in this ever-changing world of action, responsibility, creation and change, we also need to come back to the silent stillness, the unchanging pure consciousness of our being.

In human physical existence, although we often have a more dominant Purusha or Prakriti energy we want to balance the Purusha and Prakriti within us. We need both to be whole human beings and often too much of one or the other can lead to instability.

We also want to honor the tendency that is dominant, as most human beings have either a dominant Purusha or Prakriti and it is important to accept ourselves for who we are, how our Soul created us as a human expression.

Masculine (Not men) and feminine (Not women) relations to Purusha and Prakriti vary according to traditions. Some traditions say Purusha is the masculine, while Prakriti is feminine, like David Deida’s philosophy that states masculine people are more grounded in stillness, structure and the void, while feminine people are more grounded in the activity, the dance, talking, movement, change.

However, other traditions call Purusha the feminine and Prakriti the masculine. In Sri Vidya, Purusha is the Divine Mother, the unwavering presence, unchanging  unmanifested stability, and that Prakriti is Rudra, a masculine force that is dynamic and always changing. In the Hindu tradition Shiva is the unchanging feminine and Shakti is the ever-changing masculine.

It is probably best to avoid the masculine, feminine associations, that is limiting in the infinite realm beyond these two energies.  Purusha is that aspect within us all that is the silent witness and Prakriti is that simultaneous power within us that moves, dance’s and creates through action.

The most important thing to consider is that we balance and honor both aspects even if we are more dominant in one area or the other.

Ways we become imbalanced:

Often in our busy human lives we can be in Prakriti energy more often and bring only a small focus to Purusha, the silent witness. This occurs when we are always on the go, scrolling, creating, moving, dancing, electronics, work, activities, over thinking or worrying, yet find little time to meditate, contemplate, witness, pause, find silent stillness for ourselves.

Another imbalance is inertia, laziness, we may be meditating all day, sitting in stillness the majority of the day… in the cave yet never bringing that powerful energy of Purusha into actions, results, creating, communing, extending love in physical acts, words, and on the court creations of Prakriti.

Yoga meaning to yoke… Raja Yoga’s 8 limbs, Hatha Yoga sun and moon, as well as Tantra and many yogic philosophies are designed to create the paths that take us from density to subtle from conflict to inner peace, from duality to oneness.

In Hatha, the aspects sun and moon can point to Purusha and Prakriti as those elemental forces that underly all manifested creation that need to be in balance in order for our physical lives to work. Each moment, every person is balancing these two energies within the one human self.

Mahad & Ahamkara

Mahad, Great Idea

The beginnings of Human incarnation begin with Mahad & Ahamkara, a powerful vibrational desire, idea to be human (Mahad) is what activates the creation of our human existence.

The first evolute that is created out of Purusha & Prakriti’s desire to be human is Ahamkara which is created through Mahad, the great idea to be human.

Our Soul as Purusha and Prakriti exist ecstatically, eternally as non-physical, infinite divine power, one in and as and with All that is or will ever be.

Our individual Atma which contains both Purusha and Prakriti, this Great Soul that dwells within us all begins to have a desire to create, just as Ishvara had the desire to create.

Our Atman,  Soul has many possibilities of creation, one of which is becoming and expressing Its magnificence as a human being on planet Earth.

What compels our Infinite Soul with full access to unlimited power, knowledge, love, joy and creativity to limit Itself to a dense, limited human form?  Mahad, the great idea to be human with a soul mission begins the process of descending from pure unlimited non-physical energy to limited human life.

The Souls will, passion, dharma and desire is the great idea called Mahad… the idea of becoming embodied as a human being on planet Earth which activates a powerful vibration  within our Soul.

This powerful idea and vibration called Mahad, begins the process of bringing a human lifetime into existence. The deep soul mission, desire and passion to be human is what begins our manifestation as a dense human form.

Ahamkara

As with anything on planet Earth, a great idea or desire alone cannot manifest things, we need put attention, energy and take actions in alignment with our passion in order to create anything physical.

How do we embody this great idea called Mahad? What actions, energies and attentions do we need?

The map of Samkhya states an individual personality called the Ahamkara is the evolution from Purusha and Prakriti.

Ahamkara is the unique personality our Soul creates… the gifts, talents, skills, wisdom, knowledge and abilities that will support our dharmic path, our Soul’s purpose. With infinite wisdom and gifts within our Soul we choose the unique combination of gifts and abilities that align with our mission.

Ahamkara is our dharmically aligned personality, the “I” or “Ego”, as an essential Soul calibrated component of becoming human.

The ego has been confused as negative, however it is only when the Ahamkara is lost through cultural conditioning, programming, mass unconsciousness that it becomes the Asmita or false ego.

This leads us into illusion and a loss of awareness of ourselves as our Divine magnificence. We lose the full awareness of ourselves as Purusha and Prakriti. The illusion and confusion veils our awareness of what we truly are as the unique Soul personality as Ahamkara. This veil of illusion is what is called Maya.

Maya veils Truth and the we begin to lose touch with our True Identity, moving through life identified with our wounds, hurts, limitations, and victim stories rather than our Soul magnificence. Our false self has no Soul mission, only the Ahamkara has this radiant powerful Soul mission and purpose.

Gunas

Tomas, Sattva, Rajas

Think of a Tomasic ice cube, that becomes Rajasic moving water, and then sattvic steam.

Purusha is that ever constant, still, permanent Divine Source aspect of our consciousness.

Prakriti is the dance (within the consciousness of pure Divinity or Purusha) that is everything within the ever-changing manifest world.

Gunas make up everything physically manifested; varying only by different ratio’s, and combinations of the three Gunas.

Therefore, Gunas are the fundamental forces evolving from Prakriti. Gunas are also defined as “That which binds us.”

Prakriti is everything manifested, trees, wind, cats, rocks, houses, books… all the elements and energies that make up manifested life.  All physical manifestations contain unique ratios and combinations of the Gunas, your Soul created your Ahamkara or personality, in a unique combination of the Gunas.

The Gunas have also been defined as “That which binds us”

What does that mean?

It binds us to this three dimensional playground and has you forget the Purusha… the Infinite, Ever-Present, Indestructable Pure aspect of your being… your Soul, Atma, Divine Higher Self.

The enticing dance of the guna’s is what binds us. Prakriti”s ever-changing forms is what can hypnotize a human mind into forgetfulness of what we truly are. There is absolutely NOTHING wrong with playing in the realms of manifestation… we absolutely should. However, to dance in the playground of illusion, enraptured by sensations, swimming in emotions, tides, elements, music undiscovered.

We may forget What we are as Divine Gods playing games of manifestation, yet we are always challenging ourselves to rise above the veil of illusion, and be present to both Prakriti and Purusha within us and within everything, always.

A Soul swimming in the dance of Prakriti & the Gunas animating through human DNA has a high potential of forgetting the moment to moment stillness that is their God Self.

Gunas may bind us, yet Purusha maintains our Ever-Present Purity and Peace Eternal as our natural, immortal Self.

Yoga is the work we do to remember What we are and maintain peace while in the magical playground of the Gunas constantly changing ratio’s of vibrational frequencies and relationships.

We travel through the kosha’s, the eight limbs and kriya practices to not only awaken the mind, but the body as well to the Divine Light that is It’s True Nature.

Then we can become human beings living out our dharma, our Souls missions. This is very sacred and because it often gets hidden in the heart of the human being, the awakening to it is evident, imminent and always unfolding.

The Three Gunas

That make up all elements in the physical universe as we know it. We are not sure of other universes, levels of existences.

Gunas; Ahamkara, Authentic Self

It is said by many yogic philosophies that everything in the physical manifested Universe, or at least this physical planet is made up of varying scombinations of the Gunas; Tomas, Sattva, Rajas.

Our non-physical Self Creates the most authentic expression of who we are as a human personality at a mind level by using unique combinations of the Gunas. This is not the Asmita or false self that is conditioned by external influences, people, society, electronics, mass unconsciousness, but the Authentic Self or Ahamkara. It is part of the journey of physical manifestation to unravel the false self or Asmita, strip away disempowering false meanings we have added to our life experiences, becoming consciously aware of the unconscious programming we run and letting it go, and allowing the True Self and True Nature to run the show.

Our non-physical Mind or Soul crafts a personality by manipulating the Gunas to create an ideal Ahamkara or authentic lower mind or personality for the Soul mission, dharma, our Soul has chosen. This creation includes chosen gifts and talents, challenges and lessons for a human lifetime. When we feel we are living our highest truth in a moment (Knowing it may change in the next) we are living the highest alignment of the personality we have chosen for ourselves on a soul level. When we are authentically expressing our truth we are living our Dharma or life’s mission and purpose.

A personality or Ahamkara is not a solid physical expression but a mental expression, it becomes a part of our lower mind. Asmita or false ego, confused mind becomes the false personality of the lower mind.

Yet if we want to bring this great idea or Mahad to life and create a total human being, we also need a physical body to allow the Ahamkara or Soul personality to animate through for our Soul mission. This continues our descent from pure nonphysical Soul to non-physical mind to elemental or energetic physical human being.

The next level of descent in the map of Samkhya from Soul into a human being is the five elements.

5 Elements; Energy Body

Unique combinations of the Gunas create each of the five elements and pranic body.

Water- Tamas & Sattva, Covalence

Earth- Tamas, Gravity

Fire- Sattva & Rajas, Combustion

Air- Sattva & Rajas, Repulsion

Ether- Sattva, Electromagnitism

We are descending from non physical distribution of the gunas to create the non-physical Ahamkara to the elemental or pranic bodies. This also is orchestrated by your Soul power.

This next level of descent in creating our energy bodies is when the Gunas subdivide into the five elements, the fundamental forces that govern the physical realms.

We now move from the non-physical mind and personality we call the Ahamkara to the energetic expression of the Gunas to creates our chakras and pranic bodies which begin with the five elements; water, earth, fire, air, ether.

These elements become the energy that creates our pranic body and chakras, which are necessary before the physical body. The elements and pranic or energy body assists in creating and sustaining the physical body.

Our prana body is created, sustained and calibrated to serve our Mahad, the great idea of our Soul, our Soul mission in becoming a physical manifestation; our dharma.

This yogic map and philosophy states that our energetic systems, nadi’s and chakras are calibrated before birth, just as we have a personality that is ideal for our Soul mission, we also have a primary energetic imprint that is ideal for realizing the Mahad, great idea and our dharma for our lifetime. We have a dominant pranic activity and chakra that continues from birth to death of the physical body.

Ahamkara- personality and mind manipulated by your soul and gunas to serve the Mahad

Energy Body- primary energy manipulated by your soul and the gunas to serve the Mahad

Yantra Yoga is an ancient Tantric system that gives insight into the dominant energies, chakras, gifts and talents we are born with and carry with us to support our Mahad, Soul mission, dharma for this lifetime. This is another whole lesson.

Dosha’s.

The evolution of the Gunas from personality (Mind) to energy (Prana)  to physical (Manifested human body) is assisted by the Dosha’s.

Three Dosha’s

Vata

Pitta

Kapha

Dosha means “that which tends to go out of balance” also it can mean “Defect” Dosha’s are subtle forces that effect our physiology.

As we descend, we move from the non-physical mental or personality level we call Ahamkara, to the energetic or pranic level called elemental, however, we are still not physical bodies. We move into the physically manifested domain through the Gunas at the level of the Dosha’s.

We are moving through this descent from Source and finally getting to the physical manifested expression of a human being. Our Soul calibrated the mind as our ideal personality or Ahamkara, true authentic Self and our energy body and chakra system through the Gunas for our Mahad or Dharma and now we begin the final descent into physical bodies through the Gunas, elements and doshas.

-Source

-Purusha & Prakriti

-Ahamkara- personality and mind consciously calibrated by your soul and gunas to serve the Mahad.

-Energy Body- primary energy consciously calibrated by your soul and the gunas to serve the Mahad.

-Physical Human Body- this domain of the Dosha’s is an interconnected and a key teaching of Ayurveda.

Like Ahamkara every human being is born with a primary doshic blueprint called Prakruti, that aligns with the Mahad or dharma the Soul chose for the human lifetime. However, just as mass unconsciousness and conditioning can have us forget our Soul’s Ahamkara and believe in the false self and personality, dosha’s can also go out of balance due to life experiences. The constantly changing aspect that goes out of balance due to experiences, actions and thoughts is called Vikruti.

When the dosha’s go out of balance, the body goes out of balance, which also causes the pranic body including the chakras, nadi’s, vayus to go out of balance, which affects the mind or Ahamkara to go out of balance.

Ayurveda is all about correcting the imbalances or Vikruti and bringing the body, mind and spirit into the Prakruti that supports our dharma.

We fall out of balance when our actions, thoughts, spoken words, and emotions are not aligned with our True Self, Authentic Self, True Nature.

We return and maintain balance when we live our lives in alignment with our Soul choices, when we live a lifestyle aligned with our highest good. Being mindful to expose ourselves to healthy and nurturing things; healthy eating, fitness, thoughts, conversations, practices, healthy people to hang out with.

This balancing of the dosha’s that Ayerveda aims toward is becoming more and more aligned with the True Soul power that dwells within. It is only when we are somewhat balanced that we can move toward Spiritual awakening and evolution.

Once we are physically, mentally and emotionally balanced and aligned then we realize our Soul mission as a human being is a magical, beautiful, sacred journey. We realize we have been given all the perfect gifts and talents for us to fulfil our dharma, for us to bring more and more light into the planet by simply being alive here. Yet, we can do far more than survive, we can thrive and help millions of others to thrive… because we are meant to thrive.

What a fascinating journey from pure Divine Source to becoming one with Source, to becoming a mind and personality, then a dynamic, pulsating energy field and finally our solid physical bodies, each calibrated with the perfect doshic ratios to fulfil our dharmic path.
